Publication Philosophy

The following items make up our publication philosophy:

  • We exist to partner with selected Missouri Baptist authors to create reasonably priced, theologically sound books and other resources that help carry out the MBC vision of transforming lives and communities with the gospel.
  • While our priority is to lend a voice to authors who are active members of Missouri Baptist churches, we also welcome manuscripts from authors who have some tie to MBC ministries, even if living outside the state.
  • All manuscripts must be biblically faithful and theologically sound. No manuscript will be considered for publication that is in conflict with The Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
  • High Street Press is a unique hybrid publisher. If your manuscript is accepted, you pay an upfront fee for all services (editing, layout, design, etc.). Further, HSP performs limited promotion of your book at no additional charge.
  • In exchange, the author receives all royalties after retailers (such as Amazon) take their fees. This provides you with a unique opportunity to recover your investment.
  • Further, you retain all rights to your manuscript. HSP receives no royalties or other payments beyond the up-front production fee.
